Disney has released the first live-action trailer for their upcoming The Little Mermaid remake. Which will be shown in theatres in 2019. Halle Bailey portrays the valiant mermaid Ariel in this live-action remake of the famous 1989 animated film. The teaser itself shows off some of the stunning scenery that will be shown in the movie and concludes with a little video of the lead actor singing the timeless song “Part of Your World.”

The Disney network
Unfortunately, Bailey’s casting caused considerable controversy, but Disney network Freeform responded to the criticism of her getting the part. They pointed out that Bailey landing the role wasn’t the issue; the real issue was people getting outraged at a movie because it didn’t look like a cartoon. This was directed at the “poor, unlucky idiots who couldn’t handle Ariel being Black.”
Bailey is joined by Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Javier Bardem as King Triton, and Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric. Daveed Diggs as Sebastian the Lobster’s voice in the ensemble.
Unfortunately, some of the cast from the original movie won’t be there to watch the live-action version and see how their replacements fare.
Pat Carroll, who provided the voice of the sea witch Ursula in her diabolical plan to rule the seas, died last month at 95. Ariel’s lobster companion Sebastian was portrayed by Samuel E. Wright, who died at 74 last year. One of the most unforgettable moments from the first Little Mermaid is when he performs the Disney song “Under the Sea” in his renowned version. Since a while ago, Disney has been producing live-action remakes; some are plain remakes, while others, like Maleficent, are more directly associated with revisiting classic films.
The first trailer of The Little Mermaid
The Little Mermaid is only the most recent in a long line of live-action remakes that have updated the visuals while mostly maintaining the plots of the original animated movies.
Cinderella, The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast, Dumbo, Aladdin, The Lion King, Lady, and the Tramp, Mulan, and Pinocchio of recent Disney films will be joined by this one.
Along with The Little Mermaid, several additional remakes, including those of Peter Pan, Snow White, the Seven Dwarves, and Hercules, are in various stages of production. At this pace, Disney will create live-action renditions of practically all of its beloved animation classics.
Halle Bailey is about to infiltrate your world, so get ready. The much-anticipated “Little Mermaid” live-action adaptation’s first trailer appeared at the Disney D23 convention. Presenting the renowned R&B artist and actor in the iconic role of mermaid princess Ariel.

Oscar-winning picture
This was a live-action musical, which was praised by director Rob Marshall of “Chicago” renown. He stated about the previous Oscar-winning picture, “When we started this journey. It was vital to commemorate the original” while reimagining and “bringing some depth” to the new movie. In addition, the director requested that award-winning Lin-Manuel Miranda collaborates with “The Little Mermaid” composer Alan Menken to create four new songs. It’s wonderful that they’re working together after never having done so before. The original score by the late, great Howard Ashman is still beautiful.
According to Marshall, Bailey “came in and took the role” of the new mermaid. Marshall unveiled the first-ever video from “The Little Mermaid” shortly after the introduction. With Bailey singing the well-known “Part of Your World” song (for the D23 crowd only). The room was hushed as everyone watched this well-known but fresh performance. Several performers visibly moved the crowd throughout this breathtaking performance. One audience member cried, “She’s so good,” while another said, “I have chills.”

Last Note
After receiving thunderous cheers, the actress approached the audience and revealed information about the shoot. “Part of Your World” was filmed for three days. As a young kid, Bailey recalled the little mermaid, “I never thought I could see that come to life. I was swimming in the pool, believing I was a mermaid.”
Regarding the variations between the animated film and the live-action version. Bailey’s fins seem to be a little longer than in the cartoon, and she’s given up the conical shell bra underwater style in favour of a somewhat more fashionable alternative.
Marshall, who previously directed the musical family film “Mary Poppins Returns” for Disney in 2018 as well as the motion pictures “Chicago” and “Into the Woods,” is in charge of the live-action “Little Mermaid.” David Magee and Jane Goldman wrote the script. Together with Marc Platt and John DeLuca, Miranda and Marshall produce.
