The popular family drama “THIS IS US” featuring multiple famed celebrities went on air for the first time on 20th September 2016 and will say GOODBY on 24th May 2022. And “THIS IS US” cast was not ready to say goodby to US family, costars and neither were US fans, NO ONE was READY to say goodby. The long-running family show based on the beloved Pearson family story consists of 6 seasons and announces its final goodby in May 2021. While confirming their GOODBY, the whole US family remained emotional about it.
The cast was preparing themselves to say GOODBY since the shooting of the finale season, as everything was planned. The creator of the show Dan Fogleman shared his thoughts long before the final season in an interview. The interview was conducted by the Hollywood reporter in 2019, during the interview Dan Fogelman said; “We never intended to create an 18-season long television series, so we have a very clear strategy. I have script pages I’ve written and I’m writing that is deep, deep, and deep into the future. We have a strategy for what we’re going to do, and I’m aware of it.”

In January 2022 the actor Appeared on the show named Late Night with Seth Meyers, senior year of “this is us”. During the talk, the actor shared some words which clearly state the GOODBY plan of the cast.
“It’s a bittersweet situation.” I’m sure everyone will cry during those final minutes. We’ve already proven that the audience will cry too.”

Kate Pearson- the role of the Pearson family daughter, played by Chrissy Metz. “She is an everywoman”, the lady built the connection with everywoman through her well-played character of Kate Pearson. And it was hard for her to say GOODBY to US family.
Two times golden globes nominated lady was not ready to let go of her character, which she played for years. In January 2022, the lady opened up about why is she not ready to say goodbye. Chrissy Metz said; she will miss most about her character is every woman can relate to Kate. Her imperfectly trudging through her difficulties and tribulations, as well as all the shame and guilt she’s carried for so long. And it’s almost like she’s carrying a torch.

The lady states her emotional feelings of GOODBY; “I imagine the last day on set is either going to be a blubbering mess or me being delusional. ‘It’s not the day, we’re going to come back.’ I’m not sure if there’s anything in the middle.”
She also hoped that fans take away some life lessons from the final chapter of the “this is us”. While sharing her GOODBY emotions she said “It’s not so much what happens to you as it is how you respond to it, and every single one of those characters is exactly like anyone you know.”
Taking a stroll down memory lane. In December 2021, Kelechi Watson, who plays Beth Pearson, said E! News that Brown, her TV husband, could be the one to cry the most at the final take. “But we’re starting to take a trip down memory lane, and it’s starting to feel more genuine. But I believe we are all waiting in some way. You’re not sure you want to go yet. We’re probably waiting until April when we shoot the last episode.”

Awards in March 2022
The End in Sight, Moore told reporters at the Critics Choice Awards in March 2022, “My emotions are usually just beneath the surface,” inferring to the last season as “bittersweet.”
She went on to say, ” “I think we’re all upset about it right now, but we’re all trying to be calm. I’m simply trying to stay in the now and cherish the time we have together.”

This is us, the family show runs a long run, making its way to the hearts of people. The so long run came to its end with emotional goodby, neither the cast nor fans were ready to say so. But every beautiful journey has its end and the start of something more stunning from that endpoint.
